ORGANIC MALOTIRA MOUNTAIN TEA

The malotira to make this tea was harvested by hand high on Crete’s Omalos Plateau at an altitude 1240m. Malotira is a wild plant similar to chamomile that’s native to Crete and has been consumed as a tea there for centuries. Yellow-flowering malotira plants are harvested from the craggy Cretan mountain sides each summer before being dried to form a tea which is treasured for its medicinal properties. It’s an antioxidant-rich brew used across the island to treat everything from coughs and colds to respiratory and gastrointestinal issues and has a subtly citrusy flavour with soft, woody notes.
